• Always change from the default admin password before connecting your Mobotix IP camera or door station to the Internet. Aside from being basic good security practise for any Internet connected device, this will also prevent malicious Internet bots from accessing your new Mobotix IP camera using its default admin password and changing it (see next point).
  
  
• Always carefully record your new admin password(s). It is an important security feature of Mobotix IP cameras and door stations that you cannot reset the admin password without knowing the current admin password. If you forget your password, you will have to send your Mobotix IP camera back to Mobotix in Germany to have its password reset to the default password. Aside from making Mobotix IP cameras more secure, this feature makes your advanced Mobotix IP cameras and door stations themselves less likely to become the target of theft.
  
  
• Take care not to permanently disable your Mobotix IP cameras microphone using the admin menu feature that is deliberately designed to be able to perform this, unless you are using your Mobotix IP camera in an application where it is a legal requirement that audio recording not be possible, and it is your intention to physically destroy the microphone. (Mobotix IP camera microphones may also be disabled and re-enabled in the normal way using the admin menu, without the microphone being physically affected in any way.)
